Matthew 6:24 KJV
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Money is good because it helps to address our needs. Even the Bible says “money is a defence” (Ecc 7:12) meaning it can be the ‘fence’ around you from certain problems in life. With money, men can tip the scales of justice, with it also government policies can be greatly influenced whether for good or evil. People bribe their way through using money, those who have money have many friends. If one wants the best of pleasures or medical care, they need money, lots of it. But it is obvious that there are limits to what money can do. Money can’t guarantee long life, money can’t guarantee health, if not the oldest people would have been the wealthiest people. Money can’t give wisdom, it could never give the assurance of peace. By now, we all can agree that money cannot give joy that only God gives. Our God, the Supreme One can do what money cannot do. Where money fails, our Creator, the God of Heaven never fails, in fact He is One who is the owner of money and blessings. God states this clearly in scripture, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine…” – Haggai 2:8. So the burning question is “who do you want to rule over you, money or the Almighty God?” In this world, one must make their choice early. Many people have chosen to be enslaved by money, money is their master but those who are wise will definitely choose Jehovah God as their one and only Master. Make your resolve today to serve Him alone and see how money becomes your servant and slave. When God is your Lord, money and riches will do your bidding. The choice is yours, choose wisely!
