Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Without a doubt sin is way more costlier than righteousness. Why should one risk losing everything because of sin. After sinning, one really never knows what they have lost until they have lost it.
Sin we will agree could be as a result of ignorance, temporary pleasure, nonchalance, fear, or just because of immediate gains but whatever the reasons are, it is really not worth the trouble. The sin of Achan by taking the accursed thing made Israel lose battles against even their smallest enemies. Beyond the cost to the nation of Israel, the entire house of Achan including his extended family were all sentenced to death. The one who stands always for righteousness will soon be promoted, it is not if they will be promoted but rather when they will finally be promoted. When next you consider committing that little sin, think twice and back off. It is really not worth the trouble. Ask God for special grace to live in righteousness and make a resolve from now on to begin to stand for purity. God bless you richly.
